Pierre Le Faguays -An Art Deco gold cold-painted bronze
sculpture, France circa 1920's "dancer with pipes"- the young
woman dancing whilst blowing her ivorine pipes, mounted on a large
green/black marble base.
This stylish bronze by Le Faguays with his typical classical
styling to the features and hair and it can be seen in Bryan
Catley's book Art Deco and Other Figures.
Pierre le Faguays
Born in Nantes; pupil of Vibert. He attracted the attention of the
public at his first exhibition due to the originality he gave his
dancing subjects which were inspired by the statues of Tangara. He
was a member of the salon of La Stele and Evolution groups. Received
a medal of honour in 1927.
