A Large French Empire Style Trumeau Mirror, Early 20th century.
The rectangular mirror set in a painted wood and parcel gilded
plaster frame with an oval relief panel depicting 3 Putti / Cherubs
under gilded plaster garlands and ribbons Trumeau mirrors (Pier
Glass mirrors) originated in the 18th Century and were positioned as
panels in between windows to bring more light in to a room.
This is a really nice example from the early 20th century which
would add a touch of sophistication and light to any room.
In very good unrestored condition, some minor losses to gilding and
paint commensurate with age.
